“Lutefisk” with Traditional Side Dishes

Most people know Stortorvets Gjæstgiveri for our traditional Christmas food. From the middle of October until Christmas we serve several tons of “lutefisk”, accompanied by traditional side dishes. Our Christmas Menu is generous and has something for everyone. Before you reserve a table it might be a good idea to look over the menu and our seating hours to find what suits your party. We accept reservations for 1 to 80 persons.

 

Starters
Fermented trout from Valdres with red onions, sour cream, spring onion, beets and dill

Smoked salmon with roast, salad, rye bread and lemon

Smoked deer from Axel Andersen, with porchini cream and rye bread

Main courses
Lutefisk served with traditional sides

Rack of lamb served with turnip stew, lamb sausage and broth

Christmas plate with ribs, pork patties, sausage, red cabbage, apple, prune amd brown sauce

Deer served with roasted mushrooms, root vegetables, red currant marmalade and port wine jam

Cloudberry cream with rye chips

Ris a la mande with red sauce and roasted almonds

Vanilla crème brûleé with seasonal berries

Our Christmas season sittings are as follows:

  • 1st floor (upstairs): 4:30 pm – 7:30 pm
  • Ground floor: 6:30 pm – 10:30 pm
  • 1st floor (upstairs): 8:30 pm – 11:30 pm
  • Lunch: 11:00 am – 1:00 pm
  • Lunch: 1:30 pm – 3:30 pm
